It was also fairly uneventful, and Revi soon came up against the Elemental Fiend of Water, Kraken! Now with cool shades!
...Wait, if Kary is the Elemental Fiend of Ice, and Kraken the Elemental Fiend of Water, who's gonna take over Fire?
Kraken was, somehow, the most interesting boss Revi had fought in ages. It stayed in position and made itself vulnerable to attack only from its front, and it periodically stabbed that position with its two, strangely arrow shaped tentacles. This made it an actual legitimate threat, especially since it was immune to Fire, the one homing offensive spell Revi had.

But Kraken wasn't the end of the dungeon, oh no. It continued on a cave on this random, nondescript island that Revi couldn't land on. Why they chose to make the dungeon randomly split in half on an island is beyond me.

The devs randomly remembered the sickle existed...and decided to use it as a key for an ice puzzle. I hate this.

Up ahead, the dungeon introduces lava, which works like lava in every video game - it burns Revi, but only if he touches it.
I looked around, expecting some lava resisting equipment, or an alternate way in. Unfortunately, stepping through it was the only way to proceed. What the hell.

Deeper into the dungeon, Revi is given a choice between three doors. Doors 1 and 2 from the left loop into each other, leaving door 3 as the only valid choice. Yeah, dunno what they were thinking with that one.

Here's Ifrit, the Elemental Fiend of Fire! That answers one of my questions, at least.
Unfortunately, Ifrit returns us back to the trend of dull bosses, only attacking by shimmying along the topmost portion of his room and bouncing around it as a fireball.

Ifrit dies, leaving behind this useless sword. Thanks, game.

Revi hurries back to smack Cibba upside the head, only to be told that the sword is more important than it looks and that it'll open Dime Tower. He also says that the sword will only reveal his true power when it approves of its wielder. Uhh...doesn't that mean it doesn't approve of Revi? Isn't that a problem?
He also directs us back to Bowow, because apparently Bowow just knows everything about weird, ancient ruins and towers.

Bowow tells us to fight the last Elemental Fiend, Lich. Who may have dominion over both Earth and Wind, I dunno. He directs Revi north towards the "Palmy Desert". This time it's actually vaguely where we need to go! Yayyyyyy! Of course, we still need to hug the coast to get to a dock.

The dungeon leading up to Lich is so tiny it feels pointless. Lich himself is certainly the hardest of the Elemental Fiends, though not for good reasons. He ruthlessly chases Revi around, warps across the screen, and hurls giant skulls. All of his moves deal humongous amounts of damage, so the only real way to fight him is to heal up while punching him with the pointiest thing available. In my case, a thunder spear.

Bowow's next directive is to go nuke the fucking desert. Lmao.
Well, that's as good a note as any to end this session on. Next time, time for Dime Tower?
